Job Description


ARHS Digital is looking for experienced Atlassian Administrators for one of its clients, a key player in the financial sector, to create a competence centre to monitor and assist its Agile Projects Delivery.

The Atlassian Administrator plays a crucial role in the client’s IT operations by administering and maintaining the Jira and Jira Service Management (JSM) systems. This role involves configuring, customizing, and managing these platforms to meet the organization's needs effectively. The Atlassian Administrator will also be responsible for providing user support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the systems' optimal performance.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Configuration: Configure and customize Jira and JSM to align with the client’s requirements. This includes managing projects, creating and maintaining custom fields, schemes, issue types, issue security, notifications, and automations. Proficiency in workflow configuration, encompassing statuses, transitions, screens, validators, conditions, and post-functions.
  • Maintenance: Ensure the continuous operation of the Jira and JSM systems by performing routine maintenance tasks, monitoring system performance, applying software upgrades, and managing licenses for both core software and installed apps.
  • User Management: Manage user accounts, assign roles, and permissions. Implement the principle of least privilege (PoLP) to grant users access only to the necessary resources for their tasks.
  • Troubleshooting: Efficiently resolve issues within the Jira and JSM instances, including configuration, performance, and security-related problems, using safe and effective methods.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to the users, including teaching users to write JQL filters, conducting training sessions, creating user guides, and offering assistance to users in the correct utilization of Jira/JSM and its associated apps.
  • Customization: Install and maintain Jira/JSM apps, as well as integrate other tools to enhance the functionality of the Jira/JSM instance. Administer specific apps, including Adaptivist Scriptrunner and Tempo Timesheets.

JSM-Specific Administration Tasks

  • Configuration: In addition to the common configuration tasks, manage service requests, incidents, problems, changes, or any other custom events required by the client. Configure request acceptance within their workflows, the Customer portal, notifications, knowledge base, and incident management, including SLAs.
  • Customization: Alongside common customization tasks, administer Atlassian Insights (known as Assets in the latest versions of JSM). Manage facilities (buildings, floors, rooms), staff (departments, employees), assets (hardware, software licenses), and any other configuration items specific to the client, facilitating their linkage to service requests, incidents, problems, and changes within JSM.

Qualifications


Your profile

  • Proven experience as an Atlassian Administrator, with a focus on Jira and Jira Service Management.
  • Strong understanding of Jira/JSM configuration, customization, and administration.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian apps, including Adaptivist Scriptrunner and Tempo Timesheets.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in user management and implementing the PoLP.
  • Strong communication and training skills to support and educate users.
  • Knowledge of IT service management practices and JSM-specific configuration.

This role is essential in ensuring that client’s Atlassian platforms operate effectively, facilitating project management and IT service delivery across the organization. The Atlassian Administrator should be detail-oriented, knowledgeable, and capable of adapting to the evolving needs of the business.
